Meet Your Dog Groomer

My name is Tasha Root. I am dedicated to the love of all dogs, whether they are mine, or just borrowed for a couple hours while I groom them:) When I was a child my father and I ran sled dog teams in Alaska. My father and I worked to train and prepare competitive teams as well as field dogs. That was the joy of my childhood, which instilled in me a deep love of the animals and what they are able to give us in both work and companionship. As I grew up I was involved in 4-H training and showing obedience dogs and horses. I fostered many pets that needed handling help in order to find good homes.

I went to college and obtained an Associate of Applied Science in Electronics and worked in the technology field for nearly 10 years. I then got married and was afforded an opportunity to change careers. I missed the companionship that pets provide us with so I decided to obtain my grooming education and certification. I received professional training from a Certified Master Groomer for nearly a year.

My husband is in the Army and we soon had to move. I received a position at the local PetSmart® and decided that was a good place for me to work and hone my skills; it enabled me to transfer whenever we moved through the years. So I groomed in Delaware for PetSmart® and transferred here to Colorado with them. I have attended seminars and received spectacular instruction from world-renowned groomers as well as peers and associates. I also practice my skills with other NCMGs when I can.

I decided to open my own business because I see a need in many areas for a more personalized service that enables a level of personal comfort and ease that is often missed in salons and fixed buildings where our companions are often dropped off. Many dogs do not travel well and many families find it difficult to transport their pets and children, or simply find the time between the start of their day, the rushed lunch hour and the end of the long day to be able to take care of their companions. I hope that each and every one of you will give me an opportunity to care for and love your personal pets when and where it is best for you and them.
