Meet Your Dog Groomer
My name is Tasha Root. I have been a groomer for at least 4 years. My first year was in a private shop in Philadelphia where I learned skills from a Certified Master Groomer. My next location was in Delaware and I received about six months of breed specific training from a graduate of Nash academy, she finished me ahead of my class. My husband is in the Army and we soon had to move. I received a position at the local PetSmart® and decided that was a good place for me to work and hone my skills; it enabled me to transfer from Delaware to Colorado when we moved. I believe in the safety protocols and policies that I worked with there and will always abide by the same ethics.
My knowledge of grooming extends far beyond simple haircuts; the health of our canine friends is of utmost importance to me. For at least a year I spent much of my spare time volunteering at local Veterinary clinics in Delaware. It amazed me at how much we do as groomers to help keeps dogs healthy. At every salon I worked at I have had the benefit of putting my knowledge to use and help clients care for their canine companions more completely, that is very satisfying.
I continue to hone my skills at every opportunity. I attend Grooming Expositions and Seminars a few times a year. I have received spectacular instruction from world-renowned groomers as well as peers and associates. I also practice my skills with other National Certified Master Groomers when I can.
I decided to open my own business because I see a need in many areas for a more personalized service that enables a level of comfort and ease that is often missed in salons and fixed buildings where our companions are often dropped off. Many dogs do not travel well and many families find it difficult to transport their pets and children, or simply find the time between the start of their day, the rushed lunch hour and the end of the long day to be able to take care of their canines. I hope that each and every one of you will give me an opportunity to care for and love your personal pets when and where it is best for you and them.
